Plan Options

NorthwesternState University’s meal plan requirements stipulate that all on-campus residents, except graduate students, purchase a meal plan. Freshmen (those students with less than 30 hours and residing on-campus) must purchase the 17 Meal Plan. If you do not select a meal plan you will automatically be given the 17 Meal Plan.

Our meal plans have the options of:

  1. Traditional meals at the all-you-care-to-eat Iberville Dining Hall facility,
  2. Demon Dollars , which is a declining balance that allows you to eat atanyof our dining locations on campus at your convenience, or
  3. A combination of both traditional meals and Demon Dollars / Declining Balance.

* Regardless of which meal plan you have, please note that both you and your student card / ID must be present at the time of purchase. No one else may use your card, and we cannot key in your student ID in place of swiping your card. *

Meal Plan Change Forms


The last day to change your meal plan or to request an exemption from a meal plan is seven (7) days after classes start. After that date, no changes will be made unless under the specific direction from the General Manager of Sodexo. Students who are allowed to cancel traditional meal plans after the seventh day of classes will be charged a prorated amount based on two week time periods up until the final day to resign or drop courses with a grade of “W” as published in the schedule of classes. There will be no refunds after the final day to resign or drop courses with a grade of “W” as published in the Schedule of Classes. There are no refunds on Declining Balance meal plans.

If you need to fill out an Exemption from Campus Dining Services, the form may be obtained from the One Card Office or online at www.nsula.edu/onecard/. Fill out the form completely and email it to onecardoff@nsula.edu. You will be notified if your Exemption from Campus Dining Services has been approved or denied.

If you have Demon Dollars left on your account at the end of the Fall semester, these Dollars will roll over ONLY if you purchase a meal plan for the Spring semester. However, you must use all of your Dollars by the end of the Spring semester. Demon Dollars do NOT roll over from the Spring semester to Summer.

NOTE: YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL OUT AND SUBMIT THE AGREEMENT IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE DEFAULT PLAN. THE DEFAULT PLAN WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ALL LIVING IN HOUSING UNLESS YOU REQUEST OTHERWISE AND YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAN YOU SELECT.

Iberville's Guest Meal Rate

  • Breakfast: $8.19
  • Lunch: $11.49
  • Dinner: $11.49
  • Weekend Brunch $11.49
  • Faculty/Staff Breakfast: $6.55
  • Faculty/Staff Lunch, Dinner, Brunch: $9.19

The following meal plans are available to everyone. However, if you are a freshman living on campus you are required to have the unlimited meal plan.

  • 17 Meal Plan | $2420.00****Default Plan & All Freshmen Required —This plan offers 17 dine in meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturday or Sunday at Iberville Dining Hall. You may enter Iberville one time per meal period with this plan, so you don’t have to worry about missing a meal. You also get $350 Demon Dollars to use at any dining location including Vic’s, the Fork Stop, Alost Café, Chick-fil-a and Steak n’ Shake.

If you are a Sophomore or above (those students with 30 hours or above), the following meal plans are available to you. If you do not choose a meal plan, you will be assigned the Unlimited Plan.

  • 5 MP Plus | $1700.00 —This plan offers 5 meals per week with $575 in Demon Dollars – This plan offers 5 meals per week – about 1 meal per school day at Iberville Dining Hall. Meals refill on Wednesdays. The Plus is you get $575 Demon Dollars to use at any dining location including Vic’s, the Fork Stop, Alost Café, Chick-fil-a and Steak n’ Shake.
  • Vic's Plan | $1000.00 —This plan is a declining balance plan with a $1000 beginning balance. You get $1000 Demon Dollars to use at any dining location including Iberville, Vic's, the Fork Stop, Alost Café, Chick-fil-a, and Steak ‘n Shake

If you are a commuter/non-resident student, the following options are also available to you.

  • Vic's Commuter | $300 —This plan is a declining balance plan with a $300 beginning balance. You get $300 Demon Dollars to use at any dining location including Iberville, Vic's, the Fork Stop, Alost Café, Chick-fil-a, and Steak ‘n Shake.
  • 2 Meal Plan Plus | $652 - 2 Meals per week /$350 in Demon Dollars per semester —This plan offers 2 meals per week at Iberville Dining Hall. Meals refill every Wednesday . The plus is you get $350 in Demon Dollars to use at any dining location including Iberville, Vic's, the Fork Stop, Alost Café, Chick-fil-a, and Steak ‘n Shake.
  • 10 Meal Plan | $1200 —This block meal plan gives you 10 meals per week in the all you care to eat Iberville Dining Hall - perfect for the off-campus athlete or student that wants the value of a meal plan but will not be on campus as much as a resident. Meals refill every Wednesday.

We're excited to offer Faculty and Staff exclusive meal plans

  • Faculty/Staff MP 1 | $375 —This plan gives 50 meals to be used at any of the meal periods for a full academic year, only to be used at Iberville dining hall.
  • Faculty/Staff MP 2 | $155 —This plan gives 20 meals to be used at any of the meal periods for a full academic year, only to be used at Iberville dining hall.
  • Faculty/Staff MP 3 | $80 —This plan gives 10 meals to be used at any of the meal periods for a full academic year, only to be used at Iberville dining hall.
  • Summer MP/$350 $350 in Declining Balance Default Plan.
  • Summer****MP Plus/$528 50 Meals - Each sold plan will have a $25 admin fee.
